Question by Landscaping101: What language is this Antique Bible in? Can you tell me what it says in the handwritten notes?
I got, what appears to be Orthodox, bible at an auction. I have no idea what language it is written in. My best guess would be Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, or something close to that. Can anyone elaborate as to what the handwritten notes say? I appreciate your help!

Question by frenchyxoxo: How do I make my scanned handwritten pdf notes searchable?
Hi everyone, I’ve recently begun scanning all of my handwritten notes from my pervious classes into PDF files. Ideally, Id like a program where I can tag each page with multiple keywords (biology, mitosis, etc) and then be able to type in a keyword in a search and have every file tagged with that keyword pop up as results. Does anyone know of a program that does that? I’m not interested in handwriting recognition software, I’ve never had any luck with it. I just want a tag and search program. Thanks for the help in advance!
I want a system where I can tag certain names to the files, and then type that tag into its search and pull up all the files I’ve tagged. IE I have 32 pages of bio notes, half I tagged as bio and mitosis, half I tagged as bio and evolution. I want to be able to type in evolution and have 16 pages come up, and type in bio and have all 32 pop up. I don’t want to search the actual pdf itself, I know that its basically an enormous picture to the computer

Scanned handwritten notes are pictures – they’re not searchable. You can use OCR software to convert them to text first, then they’re searchable.

Question by Ballarina: Does handwriting notes and typing them have the same effect on learning?
I am taking this chemistry class and I like to take notes as I read the text. The thing is that my handwriting has worsen over the years because I’m so used to typing everything nowadays. Teachers recommend writing notes because that reinforces what we are learning, my question now is- do you think that if I type my notes it will have same reinforcing effect or should I just stick to my ugly hand writing?
Thanks!

Typing works better for me because one, I can read it easier, and two, I remember stuff better when I type it. That’s how I study, by typing all my notes.
It depends on the person though and also, you might want to stick to writing your notes so you can get practice writing.
